So who built this thing?
MailBuild is the second product from Freshview, a Sydney based and privately held company that was formed way back in 1999. Originally a web site consulting firm, we switched to full-time web app development back in 2004.
We develop simple software for web designers and right now we're focusing on the email industry. We're passionate about keeping things simple and building tools that help our customers blow their customers away (in a good way).
Our first product was Campaign Monitor, which we built for designers who want to run the entire email marketing show themselves.
Where did the idea come from?
We know it's not original, but... from our customers. Most of our Campaign Monitor customers were happy running the entire email marketing program for their clients, but there were always a few with clients that wanted to get in on the action. They wanted to write their own email content, manage their own subscribers and view their own reports.
We had the option of making Campaign Monitor much more complex to satisfy this group, or develop a new simple tool that does exactly what they need and nothing else.
We chose simple.
